Community Membership

Are you seeking some regular workshop access for practice?  We would love to have your creative energy as a part of our creative community. We currently offer two options for workshop membership:

GOING SOLO: After you have completed 20 hours of class time, you are eligible for studio time and can rent the jewelry studio for personal use. Hours must be scheduled during Silverwaves Jewelry's regular business hours (Summer: M-Sat 10am-5pm, Sun 10:30am-3:30pm; Winter: please contact me). All renters must be able to work safely and independently and may have access to tools and equipment at the benches, soldering area, buffing machine, rolling mill, and other specialty equipment. Renters are required to provide/purchase their own consumables including metal, solder, patina, saw blades, burs, finishing tools, buffing wheels, flux, butane, etc. A small fee for pickle, oxygen, and propane will be charged for each visit. Previous training and experience are required before using specific tools and equipment. Rates: $20/hr or $225/15 hrs (punch pass). Pass payments are non-refundable and non-transferable.

OPEN JEWELRY LAB: After 6 hours of class time, you are welcome to come in during a scheduled open jewelry lab where you will have access to all equipment as well as an instructor who will be available for troubleshooting and working on a project. Lab participants are required to provide/purchase their own consumables including metal, solder, patina, saw blades, burs, finishing tools, buffing wheels, flux, butane, etc. A small fee for oxygen and propane or butane will be charged for each visit. Rates: $25/hr or $200/10 hrs (punch pass). Pass payments are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Join us on  Thursdays each month for an evening of creativity.  We’ll supply the project and you supply the beverage of your choice or bring dinner.  6-8 pm. Must pre-register on our website.

Alex Boyd, Nicole Ringgold, Charles Lewton-Brain and Rosy Revolver are some of the instructors who may join you on your jewelry adventure. Our students enjoy a large, fully equipped jewelry studio with small class sizes (10 or less) and professional instructors. Or you…would you like to teach a workshop?  Please contact me.

//Canoecopia - March 10-12 2023
I made my start selling jewelry 20 years ago at this amazing show, thanks to the support of Rutabaga and Darren Bush. My first pieces were kayak related as I was guiding sea kayaking trips in Baja and the Apostle Islands at the time. It was a small table, with just a few pieces and only my sister helping. These days I have doubled my booth, which I have friends and family rotating in to help me over three days. I'm so thankful for my Silverwaves family and the extended family of people who stop by the booth to talk kayaking, adventuring and jewelry. My niece has been at the show every year of her life—including when my sister was pregnant with her! Which also means my sister has supported me every single year that I have been there.

See you soon!!!
